Making A Splash

While trends come and go in the kitchen, there’s one style staple that we can’t seem to shake.

Not only do splashbacks protect the walls in your kitchen against water, grease and dirt, they’re also an effective way to add flair to your kitchen’s aesthetic. There are so many styles to choose from when picking a splashback, and your choice is a great way to show off your personality, as well as complement your oven.

Whether it’s tile or brick, mirror or stainless steel – there’s a splashback for everyone and every oven. We’ve paired some splashback options with our classic ILVE oven models below:

White-on-white has been trending in the home for years now, and with good reason: the style gives an easy and pristine Scandinavian feel to the kitchen. By pairing a Bright White oven with white fittings, like the gorgeous textured splashback pictured, you can display your sense of sophistication (and cleanliness!) in your home.

Moving along with the monochromatic trend, this black and brick aesthetic is a great mix of refinement and warmth. Picking a tile scheme for a splashback is a fun way to make a functional item new and individual. The pattern here is different to most tile shapes, and gives a funky feel to this home.

To complement this midnight splashback, a Gloss Black Quadra ILVE is a beautiful accompanying piece.

In stark contrast to the white trend is this modern grey colour combination. Fit for an ever-so-cool kitchen, this smooth concrete splashback is hardy, fashionable and easy to clean. For an oven that matches the steely style of this home, and which also adds a little colour, try an Emerald Green ILVE.

When it’s time to add some colour to your home, a fresh and summery palette like this one is so on-trend. This printed splashback is an exciting feature in this kitchen, and provides a bit of pizzazz to a space that is too often associated with chores.

When it comes to an oven match, it’s best to let the splashback shine here – and a Stainless Steel ILVE is the right look. As stunning as it is practical, it’s a picture-perfect choice for a room with colourful details.

Much like the concept of splashbacks, ILVE’s ethos has always been based around marrying quality, timeless style, and function. Why not make this ideal pairing in your home?

Firstly, let’s talk about the contentious nature of having open shelving in your home. As this earthy space demonstrates, the primary downside to open shelving is, of course, the issue of hygiene – the risk of dust and pesky pests hanging around your display is increased. While this may be the biggest deterrent for consumers considering installing open shelves in their kitchens, the issue is easily fixed with a simple clean and a little extra tender loving care.

THE GOOD:

Of the many trends filtering through 2015, there is one that just might be our favourite. From interiors magazines to the web’s coolest design blogs, the Scandinavian-inspired white-on-white aesthetic has been a ubiquitous fixture.

Crisp, fresh and often wildly diverse from look-to-look, there is an all-white kitchen to suit any aesthetic. From modern minimalism to fresh takes on vintage whites, we’ve found the best light, bright kitchens to consider when thinking about adopting this chic look in your home.

The Classic Look:
