What better way to show off a renovation than with a celebration? To commemorate our recently refurbished Brisbane Showroom, we invited a select group of local journalists, interior designers and architects for an exclusive walk-through of our new space.

For a special reveal of our Showroom, we asked Brisbane-based media and industry professionals to view the new space, as well as check out our extensive array of ILVE products on display.

As well as showing off our new look, our guests were also treated to a retelling of ILVE’s history as a brand. Queensland’s State Manager, Mark Tebbutt, was on-hand to answer questions with his expert knowledge of all things ILVE, and he certainly didn’t disappoint.

To top off the afternoon, attendees were also treated to a product demonstration in the Showroom’s working kitchen. Our in-house home economist Steve Marsh whipped up lunch in an ILVE oven, serving up a delicious spread of roasted meats, salads, fresh seafood, hearty pasta, sweet desserts and plenty of wine.

The fun had to end sometime though, and to make the afternoon even sweeter, our guests were gifted with ILVE goodie bags, with extensive product information and a DVD featuring recipes by Giovanni Pilu.

With a walk-through this fun, we think we should renovate our showrooms more often!

ILVE Presents: Australia’s Best Home Cooked Dish Finalists

The annual Noosa International Food & Wine Festival (NIFW) is coming up in May, and we’re already in the spirit! Throughout February, more than 18 home cooks battled it out across Australia in the State Finals of Australia’s Best Home Cooked Dish Competition.

Proudly sponsored by ILVE for the fifth year in a row, the exciting State Finals for the competition were held at each of our showrooms. With our top-of-the-line products available for our contestants to whip up their masterpieces in, some truly mouth-watering dishes were produced. The State Final judges, including NIFW Director Jim Berardo, followed this culinary journey around the country, sampling each recipe the contestants had to offer. Did somebody say, “Dream Job”?

As difficult as it was to choose, winners eventually had to be crowned. You can meet the talented State Finals champions right here before they go on to battle in the Grand Final:

ILVE Celebrates With Stellar Wine Cellar Collection

The festive season has just gotten a little more exciting with the release of our new Wine Cellar and Beverage Centre collection!

was working as a carpenter and pulled some old Oregon weatherboards off an old house he was working on. He brought them home, and we made a huge frame for an old mirror. We realised at that point how we could recycle materials and make some really cool furniture. Who are your biggest design inspirations?

From an interior design point of view, Hecker Guthrie and his team are so amazing at creating beautiful spaces. They are definitely an awesome team of inspiring, creative people. Mark Tuckey and his team are inspiring, we love that their simple timber designs are always fresh and they use recycled timber and sustainably managed forestry sources. Architectural Digest is also an awesome place to go and get inspiration from around the world.

What is the best piece of renovation advice you learned from your time on The Block?

We learnt a lot about time casino online management and planning on The Block. Good quality workmanship can happen if you are pre-planning, are organised and have a great team behind you. In the “real world” its not always possible to turn a bathroom around as quickly as we do on The Block, however we learnt to be more efficient with our time, and we have taken a few of these skills into our own business.

What do you think would-be renovators should know before undertaking a home transformation?

First time renovators should know that you can”t complete a quality home renovation without professional tradesmen. It”s important for people to realise that there are a lot of things that you just can”t do without a professional, for example plumbing, electrical, structural carpentry work and tiling. It’s cheaper, and safer, in the long run to get a professional to complete these things. Planning is also important, not only in terms of layout and aesthetics, but also setting a budget. Also be clear as to what your goals are. Are you renovating to sell, as a “stepping stone” or is this your “dream home”? Thinking about these will help to ensure you don”t over-capitalise or have regrets about choices you are making.

the moment, and what do you predict to come into fashion?

Copper and brass are really hot at the moment, whether that is fixtures and fittings such as pendants and tap ware, or something a little less permanent, like copper candle holders or table lamps for styling. I predict we will be seeing some exciting new concepts in bathroom fitting designs, such as tapware of different finishes and colours. I can also see some Moroccan inspired designs making a come back in interior soft finishes and patterned tiles.

How is life after the Block? Tell us a bit about your new business.

Life after The Block has been very exciting for us! We have launched our own design and construct business Diverse Design & Construct. We offer a range of services including renovations, new builds, commercial and retail fit out and custom bespoke pieces. We have some exciting projects in the pipeline. We also have some great DIY videos coming later in the year, for those looking to undertake some small projects of their own.
